NOTE: Current Course Code: RIIWHS204E supersedes and replaces previous course codes of RIIWHS204D

Course Outline

The work safely at heights course refresher covers working safely at heights in resources and infrastructure industries.

  • Civil construction
  • Metalliferous/ Coal mining and Drilling
  • Extractive industries

Working at heights refresher should generally be completed every two years to ensure your knowledge remains up to date, and you remain compliant to any working from heights changes. Some sites and workplaces rules differ to this and will except every three years. In Australia, OHS and WHS laws are continuously changing, to improve the wellbeing of personnel in the workplace. By completing the course every two years, you can ensure you and your organisation remain compliant and in line with best practice techniques when working at heights and depths.

We recommend this course be completed alongside a Confined Spaces refresher or full course if you are working in the mining and construction industries — it’s extremely important to have someone skilled in these areas on any work site to prevent accidents or injury.

The work safely at heights course can be completed as a Full course for someone who has never done it before or as a refresher course for those who have done it before but need their SOA current within two years for industry requirements. For the full course information visit the ‘Work Safely at Heights page’.
